Janie Gentry

Janie S. Gentry, 90, Clarksville, died Thursday, February 3, 2011, at Gateway Medical Center. A private service will be held with Dr. Lenoir Culbertson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday February 5, for friends at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel. She was born August 31, 1920 in Algood, TN and was the daughter of the late Wrather and Vada Judd Swift. Mrs. Gentry was a retired librarian at Austin Peay State University and a member of Madison Street United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Glenn S. Gentry, Clarksville; sons, Stephen Gentry, Slidell, LA, Peter (Martha) Gentry, Nashville; daughter, Margaret Gentry, Clinton, NY; grandchildren, Colin Gentry Quinn, Casey Quinn, Sarah Gentry and Mary Hannah Gentry. Memorials may be made to Madison Street United Methodist Church, 319 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37040.
