James Rowlett, a distinguished veteran and devoted public servant, passed away peacefully at his home in Clarksville, Tennessee. Born on November 5, 1955, in El Paso, Texas, James’ life was marked by dedication, service, and a deep love for his beloved family.
James served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Army, achieving the respected rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3. His commitment to duty did not conclude with his military career; he continued to serve the public through his work in law enforcement with the Federal Reserve until his eventual retirement. Throughout his career, James exemplified integrity and steadfast devotion to the safety and security of his country and community.
Beyond his professional achievements, James was a man of wide-ranging interests and profound intellect. A passionate lover of music, he found joy and inspiration in melodies that accompanied his life's journey. He was also an avid reader, delighting in all forms of literature, and possessed a keen enthusiasm for history. His vast knowledge made him a treasured source of insight, enriching the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
James is survived by his children, Jennifer Cline (Jon) and Jesse Rowlett, who carry forward his legacy of strength and compassion. He was a proud grandfather to Payton Rowlett, Brenden Cline, Sage Cline, Victoria Cline, Marshall Cline, and Jackson Cline, whose lives he greatly cherished. Additionally, James was blessed with one great-grandchild, a testament to the enduring impact of his love and guidance across generations. Other survivors include longtime friends and in-laws, Bob and Donna Cline and close family friends, Tyrone and Anita Luna.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Rowlett; his parents, Sally and Ray Rumfelt, and Bobby Rowlett; his sisters, Janice Ann Mason and Mary Jo Bishop, and his precious four-legged friend, Maggie May. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew James.
Family and friends will gather to honor James’s life at the McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, located at 1209 Madison Street, Clarksville, Tennessee, 37040, on Saturday, April 11, 2026. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service beginning at 12:00 PM with his friend and neighbor, Mark Briggs officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
James Rowlett’s legacy as a patriot, a scholar, and a loving family man will endure in the memories of all who were privileged to know him. His life was a testament to service, knowledge, and the quiet strength of a humble hero. He will be deeply missed and remembered with great reverence.
