James Brooks

James Alfred `Chick/Chicken` Brooks, 69, Clarksville, died Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The remains are to be cremated. No services are planned. He was born April 20, 1939 in Chicago, IL and was the son of the late Charles Alfred Brooks and Ernestine Lingren Brooks. Mr. Brooks was retired from General Motors, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, and a Jehovah Witness. He is survived by his son, Kim Leon Brooks, Michigan, Chad Brooks, Curtis Powell, both of Florida; daughters, Elissa (Carol) Brooks, Clarksville, Carolyn Powell, Florida; half-brother, Kim Keever, New York Artist, half sister, Mary Manke, Chicago; and four grandchildren.
