Howard "Pete" Peters, 77, of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Revs. James Hunt and Ted Denny officiating. Full military honors will be rendered. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Pete was born May 8, 1935 in Quincy, Illinois, son of the late Arthur and Rosina Schulze Peters. Pete was a retired Sergeant First Class of the US Army, having bravely performed two tours in Vietnam. Most recently, Pete retired from the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System as a plumber. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the DAV. Pete was an accomplished woodworker and enjoyed fishing.
Pete was preceded in death by his children, Devin Peters and Denise Palmer. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Lois Eager Peters of Clarksville; his children, Dennis Peters and wife Debbie of Clarksville and Debra Sanders of Bumpus Mills; his siblings, Gerald Peters and Ruthie Altmix, both of Quincy, IL; 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
