James Howard Patterson, 90, of Erin, TN, passed away Friday April 26, 2013, at Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2013, in the chapel of Nave Funeral Home in Erin. Rev. Willie Lyle, Rev. Joel Nulty, and Haley Robinson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, and 12 noon until the hour of service Monday. A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 p.m. during visitation. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Erin.
Mr. Patterson was born September 15, 1922, in the White Oak Community of Houston County, TN, to the late Robert Henry and Minnie Buchanan Patterson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Averitt Patterson; five brothers, Leon, Dudley, R.H. “Buddy”, Jr., Maurice Ray, and W.R. Patterson; three sisters, Gladys Sykes, Jean Pickard Adcock, and Margaret Baker.
Mr. Patterson was a former employee of the auto industry in Detroit, MI, a self-employed plumber, member of Cedar Valley United Methodist Church, Wisdom Lodge #300, and the Houston County Beagle Club. In 2010, he was recognized by the American Red Cross for donating over 18 gallons of blood throughout his lifetime.
Survivors include one brother, W.C. Patterson (Estalene) of Erin; one sister, Jane Sikes of McEwen; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Patterson, Randy Hinson, Randall Hinson, Darrell Patterson, Robert Patterson, Marko Winters, Gary Pickard, Terry Sykes, Jimmy Sikes, and Cass Rye, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Cedar Valley United Methodist Church, Wisdom Lodge #300, and the Houston County Beagle Club.
