Hazle Belle Keene Austin, 95 of Clarksville, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Tennova Healthcare.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. A graveside service with Military Honors will follow at 2 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Laurie Hynson officiating.
Hazle was born on July 26, 1920 in Auburn, Mississippi. The daughter of the late James Layton Keene and Jessie Verdie Wilson Keene. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Richard B. Austin III and three sisters.
Hazle became an RN after attending Mississippi Baptist School of Nursing and worked as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II. She was a member of Madison Street United Methodist Church. She was an avid Bridge player.
Survivors include her son, Richard B. Austin IV; daughter, Jean Austin Massey; grandchildren, Jennifer L. Massey, Alex K. Austin, and Andy B. Austin.
