Harold Hayes

Harold Lloyd Hayes, age 95, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at his home.

Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2024, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Jeter officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and again on Monday from 12 noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Harold entered this life on July 16, 1928, in Montgomery County, TN to the late Ernest and Laura Baggett Hayes. Throughout his life, Harold touched the hearts of many as he served as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon for an impressive 50 years at Pleasant View Baptist Church. His guidance and mentorship positively influenced generations of individuals within the congregation. Harold's devotion to his faith was truly inspiring, and his impact on the church community will always be remembered. Harold dedicated his working years to Acme Boot, ultimately retiring after 45 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, like car rides, sitting on the porch, and eating catfish. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Jewell Bumpus Hayes, second wife, Margaret Jean Atkins Hayes; son, Danny Hayes, and siblings, Van Hayes, Earl Hayes, John Benjamin Hayes, Thelma Marshall, Shirley Thomas, and Geneva Faye Hayes.

Survivors include his siblings, Cecil Hayes, of Michigan, Phillip Hayes, of Clarksville, and Dorothy Niemann, of Ohio. Harold also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
