Glenna Josephine Hooper

Glenna Josephine “Sis” Hooper, age 72 of Cumberland City, TN, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 2, 2024. 

   Glenna entered this life on June 14, 1951 in Gallipolis, WV, daughter to the late Joseph and Glenna Crawford Patterson, she was the sixth of nine children.  She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, and home canning to share with family and friends. She also enjoyed embroidery and took pleasure in creating simple surprise gifts for others. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, Annaleese. They were often found taking walks, playing ball in the yard, jumping on the trampoline, or swinging on the front yard tree swing. 

   In addition to her parents, Glenna was preceded in death by her siblings, James “Bub” Patterson, Franklin “Buck” Patterson, Ralph “Bill” Patterson, Carrie Mae Pearson, Nancy Lou Long, and Rose Ann “Rosie” Patterson. 

   She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jerry L. Hooper, of Cumberland City, TN; son, Jerry “JR” Hooper, and his wife, Crystal Blackwell-Hooper of Cumberland City, TN; granddaughter, Annaleese Mattingly of White Bluff, TN; siblings, Kenneth (Delores) Patterson of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Edna Denais of Point Pleasant, WV; along with two special nephews, Darrell Pearson and Jason Patterson both of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, along with several other nieces, nephews, and in-laws. 

   The family has chosen to honor her wishes to be cremated. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. 

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
