Gene Leslie

Gene Elvis Leslie, age 79 of Tennessee Ridge, TN, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 17, 2024 with his family by his side.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Stephen Cathey and Bro. Charles Potter officiating. Burial will follow 2:00 p.m. at Clarksburg Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Clarksburg, TN.

The Leslie family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Masonic Funeral Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening. Family will receive friends again from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday morning.

Gene entered this life on November 9, 1944 in Wildersville, TN, son to the late Willis Harold Leslie and Beatrice Burgess Leslie. Gene was a proud brother of Cheap Valley Masonic Lodge #467. Gene retired after a fruitful career with both TVA Cumberland Steam Plant and the International Union of Operating Engineers #396. Following retirement, Gene continued to do dirt work with his dozer tractors and other heavy equipment. He could be found riding around, and talking with his friends and neighbors. Gene also loved to trade anything from horses, and mules, to pocket knives. Gene attended Elk Creek Missionary Baptist Church, and most important of all, was his shared testimony of salvation.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his siblings, Larry Leslie, and Donna Leslie Blye.

Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Sylvia Jean Collins Leslie; children, Danny (Lori) Leslie, Carla (David) Jones, and Brit Leslie. Gene also leaves behind his precious grandchildren, Shelby (Dallas) Hendry, Zach (Kara) Jones, Mason Jones, Gracie Leslie, Reece Jones, Rilee Jones; great-grandchildren, Saylor Hendry, and Keaton Jones, all of whom he loved very much.

Serving as pallbearers will be Zach Jones, Mason Jones, Reece Jones, Dallas Hendry, Mark Middleton, Ethan Middleton, Jeremiah Middleton, and Will McDowell.
