GayLynn Belki Devlin, age 46, of Elkton, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 9, 2014.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014 at the New Providence United Methodist Church with the Reverend B.J. Brack officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the church.
GayLynn entered into this life on September 3, 1967 in Richmond, Virginia to Michael Robert Belki, Sr. and Florence Capps Belki. She was passionately involved in a career as an educator for West Creek High School and belonged to the church family at New Providence United Methodist Church. She was a supporter of the Special Olympics and filled roles of leadership to several Girl Scout Troops. She was Troop Leader and lifetime member of Girl Scout Troop 837, Troop Leader of Troop 1032, and a leader of service unit 087. She also formerly served as Soccer Coach at Kenwood High and West Creek High. Also, GayLynn was an Army veteran, having served in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Restore Hope. She had obtained her bachelor's and master's degrees in Special Education from APSU.
Survivors include her children, Brandon Devlin of Elkton and Vanessa Eckhardt (Douglass) of Clarksville; "adopted mom" Darlene Thomas (Lonnie) of Clarksville; siblings, Michael Robert Belki, Jr. (Jennifer Cheek) of Washington D.C. and Laurel Belki Gracey of Ontario, Canada; and "adopted brother" Edward Gross of Florida. She was also the grandmother of Dallas Eckhardt and a special aunt to Laurel's children, Tori, Diana, Mac, and Brett.
Memorial contributions are preferred to either the Choir Department at New Providence UMC, 1317 Ft. Campbell Blvd., Clarksville, TN 37042 or to the Special Olympics of Tennessee, 1900 12th Ave. South, Nashville, TN 37203.
