Gayle Williams Moore, 63 of Portland, TN, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2015 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. John Laida, Rev. Larry Riley, and Rev. James Shepherd officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the hour of service.
Gayle was born December 11, 1951 in Clarksville, TN, the daughter of James and Eleanor Shepherd Williams of Henrietta. Gayle, being educated in local schools, graduated from Clarksville High in 1969 and Austin Peay State University in 1988. She then furthered her education at the University of Alaska, where she earned her MA degree.
She served as a nurse at Vanderbilt Medical Center before teaching in Germany, Hawaii, and Alaska. In addition, Gayle worked as a park ranger in Alaska and just recently retired from the State of Tennessee GIS.
In addition to her parents, Gayle is survived by her sons, Wade (Tonya) Williams of Mt. Juliet, TN and Jacob (Stacy) Williams of White House, TN; sister, Donna Page of Clarksville; 4 grandchildren, Cade, Angelina, Cole, and Sydney; uncle James (Blanche) Shepherd, Ben (June) Williams, and aunt, Mary Spann.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, National Wildlife Federation, Harley Davidson Women’s Rider Association.
