Frieda Duke, age 93, of Clarksville, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, July 1, 2024 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Frieda entered into this life on September 12, 1930 in Germany to the late Peter and Maria Reichel Meier. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Frieda was totally devoted to her husband and children as the best military wife ever. She took care of her family by herself while her husband served in the Korean Conflict and Viet Nam War.
Frieda loved life and throughout her life she made many friends. A tiny beautiful lady with the energy of 10 people. She was a fabulous cook and loved to garden. In the 70’s and 80’s she was a Red Cross Volunteer at Fort Campbell, Ky.
She took pride as a volunteer at the Immaculate Conception Church, until she became ill. Memorial donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church, Clarksville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband SGT. Major (Ret.) Dan Duke.
Survivors include sons, Aron Duke, Dan Duke, daughter Claudia Duke Hoffman (David), sister, Nilla Appel, nephews Alois, Stephen and Michael of Germany.
