Fred Walker Owen, Jr., age 74, of Milton, Florida passed away Monday, December 16, 2013.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2013 at Greenwood Cemetery.
He was born in Clarksville, Tennessee on May 24, 1939 to Fred Walker Owen, Sr. and Mary Ferrell Owen.
He attended Woodlawn School where his mother taught. Shortly after graduating in 1957, he began his career in the United States Navy. He served his country faithfully until 1988 when he retired as a Senior Chief Boatswainmate (BMCS).
He married Barbara Dedear Fuller on August 7, 1968 and spent 45 years together.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Dedear Owen, daughter Stella Pauline Fuller, daughter and son-in-law Alison Owen Robbins and Eric Robbins, grandchildren Kimberly and Nick Dean, and Henry Fuller; 11 great grandchildren; step children Barbara Bergin and Charles Fuller; Step grandchildren Tracie Castler and Zachary Fuller and his closest, dearest friend John K. and Nancy Smith, as well as their children and grandchildren.
