Elmer Prater

Elmer H. Prater, 61, Clarksville, died Monday, September 14, 2009, at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 12 noon Friday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville with military honors with Rev. Larry Spraker officiating. Visitation will be from 9 - 11 a.m. Friday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel. He was born February 15, 1948 in Catlettsburg, KY and was the son of the late, Lennox and Rosalie Elizabeth Oney Prater. Mr. Prater was a member of Park Lane Church of the Nazarene, a mechanic for ARCO Oil Field Industries, and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Ileta Gallear Prater, Clarksville; sons, Elmer H. Prater II, Clarksville, Michael J. Prater, Clarksville; E. Mark Prater, Wasilla, AK; daughters, Holly Ann Axford, Idaho Falls, ID, Ileta E. Prater, Chugiak, AK, Shannon D. Parker, Wasilla, AK; sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
