Dorrie Rice

Cecila Dorrene Rice, affectionately known as “Dorrie”, age 57, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at her home.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home.

She will be laid to rest at Patterson Cemetery.

Dorrie entered this life on November 26, 1965, in Woodlawn, TN to the late James and Jennie Heggie Jones. She was the manager of East Gate Bowling Alley for many years, where she loved spending time. She retired from Southern Recycling after many years of dedicated employment. Dorrie loved bowling, fishing, swimming at her sister’s house, and most importantly taking care of her family, friends, and animals. She always doted on the ones she loved and took pride in spoiling them endlessly. Her grandchildren were no exception to this. They lovingly knew her as “Granny”. Spending time with her grandchildren gave her purpose and kept her going. She had a big heart and put love into whatever she was doing.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Terri, Donnie, Billy, Ronnie, David, and Mike Jones.

Survivors include her children, Amanda Hines (Tony), and Kenny Rice (Heather Stowe); grandchildren, Jaden Stowe, Levi Rice, Zach Hines, and Zoey Hines; siblings, Arthur Jones, of Clarksville, TN, Betty Bellamy, of Anacoco, LA, June Skelton, of Houston, TX, Sandra Whitley (Robert), of Cunningham, TN, and Jennie Wallace, of Clarksville, TN, and many nieces and nephews.
