Dorothy Mae Thompson Hardaway, affectionately known as "Mrs. Dot", of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at Centennial Medical Center at the age of 77 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Sims officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodall Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Dot was born on April 21, 1936 in Webster, Mississippi, daughter of the late Howard Brown Thompson and Lillie Mae Wilson Thompson. She was a gifted cook and made it her career preparing meals for restaurant patrons. In her spare time she especially enjoyed bowling at Eastgate Bowling Center and deeply loved her family and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, James, Nettie Ruth, Odell, and Bonnie Lou. She is survived by her daughters and their husband, Leigh and Mike Smith of Clarksville and Brenda Armstrong of Dickson; brothers, Joe, Joel, Benny, Jimmy Dale, Ricky, and Cliff Thompson; and sisters, Imogene Marsh and Shirley Hutton.
Mrs. Dot was the loving grandmother to Tracie Manley, Keri Armstrong, Aaron Armstrong, Kaleb Smith, and Maeleah Smith, great grandmother to Justin, Emily, Kade, Madalyn, Katie, Gavin, and Maeleigh, and aunt to a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Aaron, Kaleb, Justin, and Kade, and Mike Smith, and Cliff "Punchy".
