Donnie Hodges

Donnie Jewel Hodges, age 61 of Cunningham, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. David Mackens and Rev. Melvin Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday with a Masonic Service to follow at 8:00 p.m., June 11, 2014 and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Donnie entered this life on July 19, 1952 and was the son of the late Jewel Hodges and Bessie Parker Hodges. He graduated in 1970 from Montgomery Central High School and was a Methodist. He also belonged to the Masonic Lodge #89 and was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge. He was the owner of DMC Transportation Services and loved dirt track racing with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Ray Hodges.
He is survived by his sons, Michael Donnie (Jacqueline) Hodges and Chance Houston Hodges; daughter, Amy Beth (Charles) Zimmerman; sister, Barbara (Bennie) Bearden; and Loving PawPaw to Ashley Hodges, Cody Hodges, Cole Zimmerman, Graycie Zimmerman, and Clayton Yates; one great-grandchild, McKinley Shepherd; and the mother of Donnie’s children, Janie Black Hodges.
Pallbearers will be Chris Bearden, Lucas Bearden, Dale Dunn, Louis Wilson, Ricky Greene, Jerry Swift, Bobby Parker and Maurice Vaughn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Gunson, Keith Bearden, and John Bryant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marion United Methodist Church Cemetery fund in the care of Chris Bearden 5548 Louise Road Cumberland Furnace, TN 37051 or to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 742 Clarksville, TN 37041.
