Donnie Elliot Cooksey (Roho) was born April 1, 1965 in Erin, TN, to the parents of Elsia and Donald Cooksey. He departed this life on June 7, 2016 at his home in Cumberland City, TN.
Donnie was a member of Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Erin, TN. He received his education through the Houston County School System.
He was a man of many trades. Donnie first began working for Bruce Hardwood Flooring in Nashville, then enlisted in the United States Navy, where he was stationed in San Diego, CA for seven years. Upon completion of his military duties he returned home to begin working for Nissan in Smryna, TN. He attended Queen City Barber College and worked as an intern at Keesee’s Barber Shop in Clarksville, TN, as well as truck driving school and was on the road in this profession before returning home to Erin and purchased a home in Cumberland City, TN.
In addition to his parents, Donnie leaves to cherish his memory; daughter, Jaquel Cooksey, and son, Jaquan Cooksey, of Texas; four brothers, Jeff (Georgia) Cooksey, Troy (Bonnie) Cooksey, Chris (Ashley) Cooksey, and John (Tina) Turner; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a special friend, Brandi Burns.
