`Big Don` Hartlage Sr., 68, Clarksville, died Thursday, January 3, 2008, at his residence. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Ed Steiner officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday and from 10-10:30 a.m. Monday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel.
A Rosary Service will be held 7 p.m. Sunday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel.McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hartlage was born August 4, 1939 in Louisville, KY. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Hartlage; mother, Lillian Whitworth Griffitts; daughter, Leslie Hartlage; and a brother, Tony Hartlage. He was a special education teacher at Sycamore High School, a U.S. Navy Veteran, a graduate of Austin Peay State University, and loved to coach Little League Baseball. Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Jones Hartlage, Clarksville; son, "Don Don" (Sherre) Hartlage, Jr., Clarksville; daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" (Charles) Ashley, Elizabethtown, KY; brothers, Kenny Hartlage, Greenwood, SC, Chris Hartlage, Louisville, KY; sisters, Patty King, Louisville, KY, Carolyn Proctor, Knoxville, Beverly Pryor, Oak Ridge, TN; and grandchildren, Jace, Nick, Shrader, Mitch and Drew. Pallbearers will be Bill Gray, Brent Hyams, David Edmondson, Steve Blackwell, Jimmy Shelton, Mike Welker, John Goodlett, Jaye Parker and Terry Blick. Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
