Dickey Marable

Dickey Robertson Marable was born on September 4, 1954 to Clarence and Dorothy Dixon Marable in Erin, Tennessee until he peacefully departed this life on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Centennial Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dickey was educated at Hensley School and graduated from Houston County High School, Class of 1973.  He worked at Trinity Hospital and the Gypsum Plant.  He was very talented and loved music; he played the bass guitar, keyboard, and was a singer.  He was also a member of Pacific East, a band with childhood family and friends, Don, Larry, David and Wendell.  His favorite sport's team was the Chicago Bears.  He was also a member of Lone Star Lodge #15 of Charlotte, Tennessee for over twenty-two years and served as Past Senior Warden.

He accepted Christ at an early age at Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church, and later united with Bread of Life Church both in Erin, Tennessee.

On February 20, 1980 he united in marriage to Bertha Cooksey Marable; they were privileged to be the parents of one son Xavier.  Dickey and Bertha were blessed to share 35 years of partnership, friendship, and love.

Dickey went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 18, 2023 with his wife, mother, sister, brother-in-law, and two sisters-in-law by his side.  He was reunited with his father, Clarence Marable; sister, Devonna Stuvaints, and with other cherished family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Bertha Marable; son, Xavier Marable; mother, Dorothy Marable; brother, Martez Marable, all of Erin, Tennessee; sisters, Debra (Dale) Newman of Clarksville, TN, Katrina Lokko of Dallas, TX; foster sister, Barbara Whitson of Miami, FL; two nieces, one nephew, two great nephews, two other special great nieces, Marolyn Jones, and Mateya Kizer; five aunts, four uncles, a host of cousins, in-laws, very devoted friends, James Jones, Randy Gill, Tracey Lewis, Dickie Simpson, and numerous other friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kalon Marable, Carnell Cooksey, Deantre' Kizer, Sammy Marable, Troy Cooksey, and Jeff Cooksey.
