Danny Ray Black

Danny Ray Black, age 73, of Clarksville, sadly departed from this life on August 1st, 2025 at Tennova Health Care.

He was a kind, loving, supportive man and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. 

There will be a graveside funeral held at 2:00PM Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at the Shepard Cemetery in the Stroudsvile Community in Robertson County. The Reverend Tim Ferrell will officiate.

Danny was born on November 23, 1951, in Clarksville, TN. He was the son of the late Raymond Eugene Black and the late Frances Louise Davis Black.

Danny was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Barbara Gayle Shepard Black for 47 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Melissa Danielle Black from Clarksville, TN. They both adored him so much. He is also survived by one sister Linda Jean Black Nelson from Clarksville, TN. Danny was preceded by a brother, the late Terry Allen Black, and a sister, the late Sandra Joyce Black Gibson, both of Clarksville, TN.

Danny was a God loving Christian. He was employed with Averitt Lumber Company for 7 years and retired from the Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation with 22 years service.

He was a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. Danny enjoyed doing re-enactments and living history with his fellow members.

Pallbearers will be David Wall, Ryan Brown, Ricky Longworth, John Shepard, Cameron Schmittou, and Terry Wall. Honorary pallbearer will be Johnny Shepard.
