Crystal Danette Hooper

  Crystal Danette Blackwell Hooper, age 54 of Cumberland City, TN, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at her residence.  

   A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Pastor Chad Carson officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. 

   The Hooper family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service Saturday afternoon at the funeral home.      

   Crystal entered this life on August 7, 1969 in Erin, TN, daughter to Joseph Gale Blackwell and Carol Louise Brooks Blackwell. After graduating from Houston County High School, Crystal pursued higher education where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Austin Peay State University. Crystal began her professional career working for the State of Tennessee as an auditor.   She would go on to work at O’Neil Hagaman as a personal business manager in the Country Music industry where she did accounting for many well-known stars and industry insiders.  After suffering a stroke in December of 2000, the daily drive to Nashville became too much so Crystal left her beloved position to work for the local non-profit Highland Rim Economic Corporation where she served as the Finance Director until she was forced to stop working in June 2015.     

   In addition to her father Joey Blackwell; Crystal was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Glenna Josephine “Sis” Hooper; and a nephew. 

   Survivors include her loving husband Jerry “JR” Hooper; mother, Carol Blackwell; daughter of her heart, Annaleese Mattingly; sister, Melinda (Paul) Elliot; father-in-law, Jerry Hooper Sr, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.  

   Serving as pallbearers will be Randy House, Rick Chadwick, Eric Wolfe, Derrik Jones, Leon Sanford, and Caleb Wolfe. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
