Clifton Walker

March 13, 1926 — October 9, 2012

Clifton Garland Walker, 86, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at his home in Cumberland Furnace.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be rendered. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 10:30 a.m. to the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Clifton was born March 13, 1926 in Burnwell, Alabama, son of Thomas Garland and Ruby Nell Haggard Walker. He retired following a military career with over 20 years service in the Army and Navy. He was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War, in which he participated in 6 campaigns. Following his service to his country, Clifton worked for the Trane Company, Schrader, and assisted with constructing the Zinc Plant in Clarksville.
Survivors include his loving wife, Grace G. Walker of Cumberland Furnace, his children, Remona Weakley and her husband Lester, Douglas Walker and his wife Maria, Debbie Mason, and Terry Wayne Walker and Shelly; sister, Betty Jo Click and her husband Dan; six surviving grandchildren; and eleven surviving great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dinah Walker, brother, Morris Walker, and his sister, Carol Click.
