Cindy Louise Dodson

Cindy Louise Dodson, age 68, beloved wife and soulmate to Danny, sadly passed away unexpectedly in their home on May 27, 2026. Cindy was born on December 31, 1957, in Wyandotte, Michigan, to her loving parents, Peggy Porter and Clayton Markwell. 

She grew up in Taylor, Michigan, but lived most of her life in Tennessee. Cindy married Danny on April 26, 1993, and together they shared 33 years of love and joy. Cindy had a passion for gardening, and her yard was full of beautiful flowers. She spent her days loving on her puppy Bella, playing games on her tablet, but the biggest joy in her life was taking care of Danny. Cindy loved everyone and had the kindest heart. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Danny Dodson; step-daughters, Michelle (Rodney), Allison; two step-grandchildren, her mother, Peggy Porter; siblings, Carrie (Danny) Smolen, Keith Markwell, Steven (Merri) Porter, Cheri (Christopher) Stramecky, Cristi (Lee) Phillips, Derek (Debbie) Porter, Ronda (Christopher) Gregorius, and Brandi (Robert) Cawley. She was also a beloved Aunt to seven nieces and ten nephews. Cindy is preceded in death by her father, Clayton Markwell, and stepfather, Ronald Porter.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 8:00 am at the chapel of Nave Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Service will begin at noon with Bro. Stephen Cathey officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
