Christa Maria Newman, 72, of Clarksville, had her homecoming with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 1, 2012.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Freeman officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home.
Christa was born December 16, 1939 in Badkissingen, Germany, daughter of Richard and Emma Sunkel. She was a retired Personnel Manager for K-Mart. Christa was raised in the Lutheran Church and later became a member of First Baptist Church where she was baptized alongside her daughter.
Survivors include her son, Deven Newman and his wife Jimmie Rae of Birmingham, AL; daughter, Linda Stanfill of Clarksville; grandchildren, Rebecca Ficklin, Christi Stanfill, Robert Stanfill, Jason Newman, Amanda Pettit, Sarah Smith, and Nikki Newman; her sister Maggie; and four great grandchildren.
