Charles Lester Myers, age 73, of Clarksville, TN, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. A service will be held at a later date in Elko, NV.
Charlie entered this life on December 26, 1948, in Las Vegas, NV. He was a Retired Command Sergeant Major of The United States Army. He faithfully served his country for 28 years. After his retirement, he worked for Pepsi Company for 15 years. During that time, he served as a Elko City Councilman, and a Elko County Commissioner for 8 years. He was a disc jockey for KRJC and was known for being “Just Charlie in the Mornings”. He dedicated his life to serving others. He helped where needed and never missed an opportunity to help a fellow Veteran. Charlie coached his son in football and baseball, and eventually coached the next generation alongside his son.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lois Myers; siblings, Joyce Rose, Janice Jenkins, and Toni Forbes, and nephew, Benny Jenkins.
Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Tammy Myers; children, Michelle (Mike) Reda, Melissa VanErt, Marie (John) McKnight, Kimberly (Lance) Bearbow,and Charles (Melanie) Myers “Charlie”; siblings, Kathy (Bill) Hassett, and Rick (Debbie) Myers; grandchildren, Adam (Jennifer) Reda, Dalton (Justine) Reda, Jonathan (Amber) Reda, Allie (Wyatt) Page, Ashley (Taylor) Rose, Brittany (DeShawn) Smith, Jessica (Colin) Dodds, Alexis Chism, Nickholas McKnight, Justin McKnight, Tia Bearbow, Brandt Bearbow, Victoria Bearbow, Brooklyn Bearbow, Brayden Myers, Zachrey Myers, Paityn Myers, and Emmalee Myers; ten great-grandchildren and two on the way.
