Robert L. "Bobby" Bowers, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on November 22, 1935, in Montgomery County, Tennessee, he would go on to honorably serve his country in the U.S. Army, followed by an impressive career with the U.S. Army Civil Service at Fort Campbell, where he was a steadfast servant to his country and community for over 40 years.

As a young man, Bobby attended Woodlawn High School. Throughout his life he found great joy in researching genealogy and family history, always seeking to uncover the stories of those who came before him. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Bobby was deeply grounded in his faith. He was a beloved member of First Baptist Church in Clarksville, where he held his Lord and Savior Jesus close to his heart. His spiritual journey was marked by a strong devotion that inspired those around him.

Bobby is survived by his children, Brad Bowers and Kim Britton (Max), and grandson Cameron Hendrixson (Rachael), who carry on his legacy of love and service. Other survivors include his siblings, Daniel Bowers and Rachel Hudson (Johnny). He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Nancy Joanne Bowers, as well as his parents, Gip Thomason Bowers and Willie Mae Crotzer Bowers, and his siblings, Mary Emma Jones, Paul Bowers (Helen), David Bowers (Wilma), and Philip Bowers (Betty).

Family and friends are invited to honor Bobby's remarkable life during the following services at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, located at 1209 Madison St, Clarksville, TN 37040. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday beginning at 11:00 AM with Drs. Roger Freeman and Ronny Raines and Rev. Pat Van Dyke officiating. He will be laid to rest at Blooming Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Don Jones, Dale Jones, Tim Welker, Max Britton, Bruce Wallace, and Seldon Sledd.

In lieu of flowers, Bobby’s family asks that donations be made to the Children’s Department at First Baptist Church, Clarksville.

Bobby Bowers will be remembered as a devoted father, a dedicated public servant, and a man of deep faith. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
