Betty Jean Brodie, age 79, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at her home in Woodlawn.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Revs. James Mackens and David Mackens officiating. Burial will follow in the Dotsonville Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home.
Betty entered this life on April 8, 1934, daughter to the late William and Bessie Patterson Murray. She was employed in food services at APSU and most recently with the Trane Company.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Brodie. Survivors include her daughter, Laura Brodie Waldrum and husband Eddie of Woodlawn; sisters, Marie Ann Lanberg and husband Bill of Louisville, Ora Lee Harrison of Clarksville, and Judy Holt and husband C.L. of Clarksville; and brother-in-law, Elliot Brodie. She was the loving grandmother of JoVanna Anderson and husband David, Josef Mendy, and Emile Soucey and great grandmother of Garette Schurman and wife April and Justin Anderson; and her loving companion of 20 years, Charlie Mackens.
Pallbearers will be Garette Schurman, David Anderson, Emile Soucey, Billy Smith, Jeff Smith, and Justin Anderson.
