Bertha Mae Smith, 91, Clarksville, went to be with her Lord, Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Gateway Medical Center.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 16, 2014 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Jeff Burris officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday from 12 noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Bertha was born June 5, 1922 in Montgomery County and was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Lone and Janie Brown Nicks; husband, T.W. Smith; son, William Ray Smith; and her grandson, Troy Wayne Wooten.
Bertha retired from Jay Garment Company, was a loving homemaker to her family and a deeply loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She was also and active and faithful member of the Church family at the First Baptist Church St. Bethlehem. Among the many things she enjoyed were flowers and taking care of those she loved.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Jeanette Curtis and son-in-law, Lyndle; brother Junior Nicks; sisters, Nell Bentley, Polly Jones; granddaughter, Tonya Rhodes; great-grandson, Zachary Cobb.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Cobb, David Johnson, Matt Churrarin, Aubrey Klann, Kody Stapleton, Robert Semler, Jessie Mattingly and Seth Anthony.
