Ann Steinbrunner, age 79, passed away peacefully at Gateway Medical Center on July 6, 2013. She was born on April 19, 1934 in Allensville, KY, to Henry and Thelma Porter. Her husband, CSM Joseph R. Steinbrunner, preceded her in death in 2000. Ann was a doting wife and mother to their four children as well as a homemaker and animal lover, especially Boston Terrier dogs. Throughout her life, she had many four-legged friends from that particular breed, all named Pee-Wee. Her effervescent personality, zeal for life and unmistakable red hair, earning her the nickname “Big Red,” allowed Ann to be the life of any party. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her companion of 10 years, Glenn Logsdon, her four children: son, Joseph Steinbrunner and wife Mary of Clarksville; son, Michael Steinbrunner and wife Nancy of Charleston, SC; daughter Rose Lyle and husband Bill of Clarksville; son, Mark Steinbrunner of Memphis; her nine grandchildren and her nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from 4-7 P.M. at McReynolds, Nave and Larson Funeral Home in Clarksville. A private gravesite service will follow on Wednesday, July 10, 2013. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County, 223 N. 2nd St. #2, Clarksville, TN 37040, 931-648-8042.
