Willilam Forrester

William Joseph Forrester, age 82 of Clarksville passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021, at Skyline Medical Center.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Bill entered this life on October 25, 1938, in Waverly, TN to the late Ardell and Mattie Forrester. He was a graduate of Waverly Central High School. Bill enjoyed playing golf and was a Veteran of The United States Army. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Clarksville, and retired from the State of Tennessee. Bill graduated with his Bachelor of Science Degree at Austin Peay State University, where he served as both President and Vice President for The Circle K Club. Bill received his Master of Public Health Degree from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he was the first recipient of the Master of Public Health Award. Early on, Bill worked as a lab technician and later worked as an Environmental Manager for the State of Tennessee. While serving as the Environmental Manager he coordinated the efforts of state hazardous waste regulations. Bill worked in the Department of Defense and Military departments, where he turned land and buildings back to Counties and Cities in Tennessee. Among his many accomplishments and roles, he prepared and served on the first-ever Ethics Legislation for Clarksville, TN while also serving four years on City Council. In Bill's thirty-five years of dedicated employment, he served several administrative positions, including budget preparation, supervising the superfund Hazardous Waste Program, and coordinated the investigation and remedial actions of the Department of Defense.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two brothers, James Forrester and Eugene Forrester.

Survivors include his wife Teresa Forrester; children, David Forrester (Tammy Arms), Karen Norman (Mack), and Jeffrey Forrester; a son by marriage, Derrick Raines; grandsons, Eric Forrester, Lt. Lee Norman, Trey Norman, and Aaron Raines; siblings, Mickey Forrester, Carolyn Sue Baker, and Diane Johnson.
