Obituary for Walter Paul "Walt" Telfer

Walter Paul “Walt” Tefler, age 82, of Clarksville passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at his residence.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2020, at 3 p.m. with Dr. Ted Denny officiating at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Walt entered into this life on August 18, 1937, to the late Walter J. and Agnes Knowles Telfer in Binghamton, NY. He retired from the Mid-Town Inn and Vacation Motel as a desk clerk. Walt was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and he enjoyed bowling and golfing in his free time.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his son, Billy Magnuson; daughter, Erin Beeman; stepson, Darrell Walker; brother, Joe Hardin.

Survivors include his loving wife, Kathleen Rye Telfer; sons, Stuart (Pam) Telfer, Sean Telfer, Walter J. Telfer; daughters, Marla Gawarecki; Rene Weldon; step-daughter, Penny (Charles) Russell; stepson, Lynn Walker; brother, Frances Telfer; sister, Mary Surowka, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the Avalon Hospice Staff especially Dr. Standley and nurse Cassie.
