Virginia Lee Barbee Jordan, age 90, of Clarksville, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at AHC in Clarksville, TN.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Florence, SC with a private family service.
Virginia was born on June 11, 1930 in Clarksville, TN to George Gupton and Ethel Fort Barbee. Although Virginia was born in Tennessee, she spent most of her adult life in South Carolina. She worked for and retired from the CSX Railroad in Florence, SC where she was the assistant to the Superintendent of the CSX Florence division. She was very active in her church, John Calvin Presbyterian Church. Her faith and allegiance to her family, church, and country was very strong. Virginia was an election poll worker, a senior citizen tax preparer, a hospice volunteer, and donated her time and money to other charitable activities.
Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kirby W. Jordan; brothers, George and Billy Barbee; sisters, Martha Elizabeth Barbee Adair and Charlotte Barbee McGavic.
Survivors include her sister, Shirley Barbee McDaniel of Eglin, SC; three daughters, Susan Lewis of Clarksville, TN, Diane Leavell Moreau of Florence, SC, and Beth Leavell Jackson of Loganville, GA. She has seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren that call her Gina, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
