Tennie entered this life on March 23, 1947 in Indian Mound, TN to the late Gus and Virginia Candler Norfleet. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and reading the Bible. She had a Master's Degree and worked at Fisk University and Meharry Medical College. Tennie was the Director in the IT Department.
Survivors include her husband, Nick Smith; daughter, Chantel Moorhead; sisters, Edith Hunter-Potts, and Marie Schryver, and grandchildren, Alexandra Ernst and Brielle Moorhead.
