Richard Owen Hughes, age 59, suddenly passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2021 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Riley officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Slayden Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery.
Richard's family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. until the hour of service Sunday at the funeral home.
Richard was born on October 19, 1961 in Montgomery County to the late Howard and Doreen Hughes. He was a truck driver for Nashville Ready Mix, but his passion in life was sharing the Word of God and leading people to God through his Savior Jesus. He was the dedicated Pastor of the Slayden Church of God of Prophecy and his church family dearly loved him and treasured his thoughtful and prayerful worship messages.
Survivors include his children, Ryan Hughes (Alicia), Andrew Hughes (Emily), Isaac Hughes (Autumn), Lynsie Abbitt (Ryan), Rachel Thompson, Elizabeth Lamberth (Garrett), and Cathrynne Hughes; siblings, John Hughes, Andy Hughes, Rosa Lamberth, and Lenora Shelton. Richard was also the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren.
