Randy quickly became a best friend of mine after meeting at a bike shop in 2011. We learned of all the things we had in common, spending hours a day pedaling and chatting through the seasons of Tennessee in the heat and ice, day and night. I remember how we would wear so many layers of clothes in the winter, we could barely pedal and always had a laugh about it! We both knew we were crazy, and I am thankful for him and those times together.

After I moved away, we kept in close contact, often talking about family, last weekends motocross race, or the up coming Tour de France. After losing my Dad this year, and Randy losing his Mom, we both looked forward to him visiting California and spending time together riding as we had in the past.

Nothing can be said to fix the pain of losing Randy, but my hopes are that in learning how much he is loved will help his family with the process of healing. My thoughts, prayers and condolences are with his family through this impossible time.

I have known Randy for as long as i can remember. Randy was a friend, a brother and a mentor at different times in my life. His ability to become a master at any thing he tried to do was amazing. He was willing to do whatever it took to make things happen. I have learned so much from Randy and i will miss him dearly. Rest in peace brother.
