Mrs. Maria G. (Elmy) Brandon of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away at her Daughter's and Son-In-Law's home in Clarksville where she had resided for the past 3 1/2 years.
Mrs. Brandon was the widow of James E. Brandon whom she married in Shangai, China during WWII while he was stationed there while serving the U.S. Navy!
Elmy went to work for Siegel Dept. Store as a Bookkeeper while James was deployed overseas. After his discharge they built and maintained their home on the farm their entire marriage to date. Elmy later was employed as a Bookkeeper for Milton Jones Company while teaching private piano and organ lessons to a multitude of students over the years. She served as church pianist and organist for Rutledge Falls Baptist Church, Lincoln St. Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church Manchester. She retired from The First United Methodist Church in Tullahoma, Tn. after serving there for 14+ years to be available for her grandsons and her hobby of knitting.
Elmy was predeceased by two siblings when she was a child, her parents and step-mother, two adult sisters in the past 5 years, her husband James in 1999; son, Richard (Ricky) Allen Brandon, and grandson Robert in 2012.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Brenda E. Allen and her husband the Rev. Dr. Kim Allen, Clarksville, grandson Jonathan (Christie) great grandsons Elijah (Eli), Benjamin (Benji), Clarksville, James Michael Brandon, FL, and one sister, Belma Silva of Manchester.
There will be a graveside service only per her request at 11 a.m. Friday, March 6th at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens on Hwy 55 between Manchester and Tullahoma.
