Kay E. (Nelson) Cox, age 83, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020.
Kay was born in Farmington, Illinois on May 28, 1937 to the late Margaret Nelson. Kay grew up in Farmington where she met the love of her life Dan Cox. They were married on July 3rd, 1955 and raised their four children Bob, Dave, Cathy, and Ron in Farmington. They moved to Dunlap, Illinois after retirement to be closer to family. In 2020, Kay moved to Clarksville, TN to again be closer to family. This move also put Kay closer to her and Dan’s home away from home, The Smoky Mountains. This last June Kay enjoyed her final trip to the Smoky Mountains with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dan Cox.
Survivors include her children, Bob, Dave, Cathy, Ron; grandchildren, Liz, Josh, Julie, Dan, and Mel; great-grandchildren, Maggie, Logan, Payton, and Morgan; sister, Pamela Haller of Farmington, IL.
