Katye Shelton

Katye Bethana Glasgow Shelton, age 103, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022.
Celebration of Life will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Dr. H Ray Dunning officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Katye entered this life on January 24, 1919 in Bumpus Mills, TN, to the late Lewis Elliott Glasgow and Virginia Elizabeth Sholar Glasgow. She was a member of Clarksville First Church of the Nazarene for 74 years, and taught Sunday School for 35 years, as well as holding Children’s Church. She served on the Church Board for 30 years and was the Board Secretary. Mrs. Shelton was employed by Clarksville Memorial Hospital for 34 years as Director of Personnel.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Oliver Shelton, Sr., son, James Oliver Shelton, Jr; daughter, Twila Kaye Shelton and her siblings, Lurton Glasgow, Lewis Glasgow, Virginia Clinard, Lela Mae Harris, Lola Coates, Gertha Gillium, and Ruby Fyke.
Survivors include her daughter, Anne Elizabeth Shelton King Baker Nieten (Ed); grandchildren, James Michael Shelton (Rhue), Laura King Whitton (Bryan), Kari Michele Shelton Prater (Cliff) and Christopher Edward Baker; great-grandchildren, Austin Christopher Shelton King, Mary Kathryn (Katye) Baker, and Ashlyn Grace Prater.
