Janie Ogle

Dora Jane Ogle, age 82 of Southside, TN passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022.

Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2022 at McReynolds- Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. David Mackens officiating. Burial will follow at Ryes Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Janie entered this life on August 24, 1940 in Dickson, TN. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Janie was a generous woman who would give freely. She enjoyed going to yard sales, flea markets, and even worked her own consignment sales. She was a regular at the Log Cabin Flea Market and Bellamy Auction where you could find her on the front row holding #10. Janie formerly worked for Boosters and Red Cap. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and teaching her children and grandchildren how to can.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Baxter and Mary Christy; brother, Robert Christy, Jr., and infant sister, Linda Joyce Christy.

Survivors include her husband, Mel Ogle; children, Dennis (Connie) Epps, Ernest (Donna) Epps, and Patricia (Ray) Herrell; children by marriage, Josie (Sherill) Elkins, Gayle (Jimmy) Bruce; grandchildren, Bobbi (Lonnie) Devers, Billie (Mark) Shively, Jennifer (Danny Herrell) Hoard, Veronica (Jackie) Hodges, Pamela (Miguel) Serrano, Michael (Andrea) Watson, Jessica Watson, Kimberly (Ben) Bass, and Brandon Epps; grandchildren by marriage, Candi Bainbridge, Chris Tomlinson, Beth Pack, Andrew Bruce, and Laura Nickens; great-grandchildren, Amber, Andrea, John Michael, Christopher, Jack, Makayla, Caleb, Shae, Carson, Trey, Ty, Marshall, Mickey, Dempsey, William, Miranda, Dennis, Zackary, Shyanne, and Ely, four great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; sisters, Judy (Howard) Sinks, Sandra (Bobby) Hollis. Janie also leaves behind 11 great-grandchildren by marriage.
