James McCoin

James Theoplis McCoin II, age 32, of Clarksville, TN, gained his wings on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at home.
Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. John Mark Thomas officiating.
James entered this life on February 23, 1990 in Clarksville, TN to James and Angela Kennedy McCoin. He was a graduate of Clarksville Academy and later graduated from Austin Peay State University, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. James went on to graduate from Nashville School of Law. While in school, he achieved the Deans Pro Bono Service Award and the Tennessee Supreme Court 2018 Law Student Justice Award. From 2013 to 2015, James volunteered with American Vista Volunteer Service to America and was admitted to the Tennessee Bar on June 10, 2021. He was a loving son, grandson, brother, nephew and friend who will be deeply missed.
Preceded in death by his father James McCoin, maternal grandparents Helen and William Doris Kennedy, and paternal grandfather JB Boyd.
In addition to his mother, Angela, he is survived by his paternal grandmother, Lucinda Robinson; brother, Norman (Tomekia) Jordan; sisters, Cristal McCoin, Jamie McCoin; aunts and uncle, Phoebe Butts, Mary Pryor, and Ronnie (Diane) Kennedy; niece, Nkaeda Jordan, and nephew, Taishawn Birdlong. James also leaves behind his chosen family member, who he considered a brother, and best friend, Kelvin Rutledge.
