Donald Howard Dority, age 82 of Clarksville passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022.

Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Madison Street United Methodist Church with Revs. Harriet Bryan, Jared Wilson, and Valarie James officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and again on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at Madison Street United Methodist Church.

Don entered this life on September 24, 1939, in Montgomery County, TN to the late William and Claytie Davidson Dority. He was a member of Madison Street United Methodist. Don was a 1957 graduate of Clarksville High School and went on to serve honorably in the United States Navy. Don attended Austin Peay State University and graduated from The University of TN College of Pharmacy in 1966. Don was the President and owner of Town & Country Drugs, Inc., President of Orr’s Town & Country Drugs and Long-Term Care Consultants, CEO and Administrative Director of Cumberland Dialysis Center. He was selected to appear in the Outstanding Young Men of America in 1969. Don had formerly served as the President of the Montgomery County Pharmacist Association, past President and Board Member of Harriet Cohn Mental Health Center, past President and Board Member of Credit Bureau of Clarksville, former Board Member of the Montgomery County Health Department, former Director of Clarksville Jaycees, former Director of Clarksville Chamber of Commerce, and former Director of Small Business Association, past President of Montgomery County University of TN Alumni Association. Don was the past President and Board Member of Clarksville Country Club, Honorary Member of the Physics Society of APSU, Vice-President of the Billy Daniel Junior Golf Foundation, and a board member of Clarksville Junior Golf Tour.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his twin brother, Ronald Hugh Dority; brothers, Eugene Dority, Charles Douglas Dority, Larry Dority, and sister, Mildred Dority Batey.

Surviviors include his wife of almost 62 years, Joyce Pressler Dority; children, D. Howard Dority, Jr. and his wife, Peggy, Beth Dority Stanfill, and her husband, Steve; grandchildren, Jessica Dority Eteredge, (Adam), Kathryn E. Stanfill, Ashley Dority Moore (Matt), S. Mark Stanfill (Danielle), and Frances Anne Stanfill Handl (Gunner).

Memorial donations may be made to Madison Street United Methodist Church, 319 Madison St, Clarksville, TN 37040, and Clarksville Junior Golf Tour, C/O Diana Samuels at 225 Richaven Road, Clarksville, TN 37043.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Harris, Danny Cross, Jim Schact, Ed Edge, Dr. John Gholson, Freddy Wyatt, Sr., Freddy T. Wyatt, Jr., John Bucheit, Dr. Price Hopson, Don Darnell, John Sneed, Gary Batey, Adam Etheredge, Mark Stanfill, Matt Moore, Gunner Handl.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Clarksville High School Class of 1957 and the volunteers and players of the Clarksville Jr. Golf Tour.
